Description
Whether at tea time or at the dining table, the contemporary softness and meticulous aesthetics of the Pekoë collection herald the beginnings of a high-end tasting experience. Creamer, sugar bowl, bowl, plate, teapot, and bamboo tray, along with the original cups, come together to create the ideal landscape for an inspired “teatime,” drawing equally from the sumptuous aesthetics of French tea culture and the pure lines of Asian tradition. Opposite to the current trend that celebrates the imperfect poetry of distressed ceramics, the young designer Lucas Frank’s first wish was to pay homage to the high technicality of the material, as crafted as the precision of industry. At ECAL, the renowned art school in Lausanne where he was trained, Lucas Frank absorbed the principles of a rigorous creative grammar, inherited from the Swiss-German philosophy, which advocates a very concrete design approach focusing on function.
